This trilingual permanent exhibition is dedicated to the international architectural and cultural public mediation of the Mensa Canteen and its cultural heritage. The exhibition supports in particular the preservation of the Mensa under Monument Protection as a complete work of art as well as the Canteen’s sustainable, energy-efficient renovation. We would especially like to thank the State Chancellery / Department for Europe and Dr. Wolfgang Müller for their generous financial support. We would also like to thank all other sponsors including the Saarland University Society (Universitätsgesellschaft des Saarlandes e.V.), Saartoto Lotto and Saarland Spielbanken. We would also like to thank our cooperation partners for the permanent exhibition and the linked web app: the Studierendenwerk Saarland, the Landesarchiv, the Landesdenkmalamt and the Saarländischer Rundfunk, the latter for the contractually regulated provision of archive films and broadcasts on the Mensa. For the publication of photos, documents and publications, we would like to thank in particular: Monika Bugs, Marcus Feld, Wolfram Freutel, Chris Gerbing, Urban Hajek, Rainer Hartz, Marco Kany, Gerd Poller, Saskia Riedel, Martin Rupps as well as the Saarland University Archives, the Saarland State Archives, the Saarland State Monuments Office, the BDA Saar, the htw saar / Saar School of Architecture / Digital Building Archive Saar+, the Institute for Contemporary Art (IAK) Saarlouis, as well as the Southwest Archive for Architecture and Engineering (saai/ KIT) in Karlsruhe.
